Director of Bands
Jarrett Lipman is the Director of Bands at Claudia Taylor “Lady Bird” Johnson High School in San Antonio, Texas.
At Johnson, Lipman directs the Marching Band, co-conducts the Wind Ensemble, and assists with the Symphony Band, Concert Bands, and Jazz Ensembles.

Associate Director of Bands
Alan Sharps is entering his ninth year as a band director at Johnson. He co-conducts the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Bands and is the director of the school's outstanding Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo. In addition to his regular instruction duties with the marching band, he oversees all of the technical and electronics aspects of the band program.
Sharps has an extensive musical background in Florida and Virginia, and spent 11 years at Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio before coming to Johnson. He's also known for teaching at least one mega-superstar singer-rapper-record producer.
Assistant Band Director, Concert Band
Austin Maldonado is entering his first year as a band director at Johnson. He conducts the Concert Band and assists with the Marching Band and Jazz Ensembles. Mr. Maldonado was a member of the band program when Johnson opened in 2008 and served as a Drum Major for the 2010 season. READ MORE
Darryl Pemberton is the Visual Designer and Color Guard director for the Claudia Taylor Johnson High School Band. In his time at Johnson, Pemberton has led the Johnson Color Guard to numerous medals in the Texas Colorguard Championship circuit, Johnson Color Guard is also a multiple WGI finalist, winning first place in Scholastic World at the WGI Southwestern Colorguard Championship in 2015 and earning the Silver Medal in the Scholastic Open Class in 2013.

Assistant Band Director, Percussion Studies
Kris Hartman is the Associate Percussion Director/Assistant Band Director/Arranger for Claudia Taylor Johnson High School and Frank M. Tejeda Middle School in San Antonio.
Since the opening of Johnson High School in 2008-09, Mr. Hartman has been an integral part of building the percussion program from grades 6 through 12 as well as the development of the marching program. Woodwind Specialist/Clarinet Instructor
Philip May is a professional clarinetist, private lesson teacher, and occasionally a conductor. He has taught clarinet lessons and master classes at Johnson since the program's third year, in 2010. In addition, he supports the directors in a variety of ways, providing feedback, helping with programming, and has even stepped in to conduct the bands when the directors are engaged elsewhere. The Johnson Clarinet Choir, which began rehearsals in Summer 2015, was awarded a Superior Rating at the 2016 Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest for its performance of Rossini's "
An Italian In Algiers
